Targets are the easy part.

The big picture
Sustainability is the new standard for Irish manufacturing excellence.
The Irish government has set a legally binding target for the industrial sector to reduce emissions by 35% by 2030.

For manufacturing companies, the transition to sustainable operations can often seem like a daunting financial and logistical hurdle.

Climeaction’s FAST (Footprint, Audit, Strategy, Targets) program was designed by CEO Paul Murphy and team to dismantle these barriers. By providing a structured, data-driven Climate Action Plan, the FAST program acts as a key that unlocks a suite of significant financial support from applicable Government agencies such as your Local Enterprise Office (LEO), Enterprise Ireland (EI), Údarás na Gaeltachta or IDA Ireland.

What the FAST program delivers

The FAST program is a high-impact decarbonisation roadmap designed specifically for process-intensive manufacturing. It compresses what is usually a months-long planning cycle into a 6–8 week sprint, delivering:

  • Footprint – A precise calculation of Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
  • Audit – Identification of energy-saving opportunities and resource efficiencies.
  • Strategy – A prioritised list of projects with clear ROI and payback periods.
  • Targets – A long-term (3-5 year) plan to embed sustainability into the company’s DNA through training and the setting of realistic science-aligned targets.

Green Start

One of the most immediate benefits of the FAST program is its eligibility for existing state grants. These grants significantly reduce the cost of developing your initial Climate Action Plan.

Green Start (Enterprise Ireland & LEO)

Designed for companies at the beginning of their journey, Green Start provides up to €5,000 in funding. The FAST program perfectly aligns with the Green Start mandate to introduce best practice sustainable systems. For a small manufacturing firm, this often covers a substantial portion of the consultancy costs required to build a foundational strategy.

GreenPlus

GreenPlus (Enterprise Ireland & IDA)

For larger manufacturers or those with complex supply chains, GreenPlus offers up to €50,000 (covering 50% of eligible costs). This grant focuses on capability building and high-level training. Using FAST under a GreenPlus project allows companies to not only create a plan but also train their internal teams to manage and execute that plan effectively.

Having a verified Climate Action Plan from Climeaction is often a prerequisite or a massive advantage, when applying for high-value capital grants.

Three competitive advantages

The Irish government has set a legally binding target for the industrial sector to reduce emissions by 35% by 2030. Beyond compliance, a Climate Action Plan developed through FAST provides three competitive advantages:

  • Cost Reduction – Identifying low-hanging fruit in energy and waste typically yields immediate ROI.
  • Supply Chain Security – Major retailers and global partners now demand ESG transparency; a FAST plan provides the data to win these contracts.
  • Grant Readiness – When new Green funding rounds open, companies with a shovel-ready plan are first in line for approval.
The FAST program perfectly aligns with the Green Start mandate to introduce best practice sustainable systems.

The new standard for Irish manufacturing

Sustainability is the new standard for Irish manufacturing excellence. By leveraging Climeaction’s FAST program through Green Start or GreenPlus grants, companies can offset the cost of their strategic planning while positioning themselves to claim thousands of euros in further capital supports from LEO, Enterprise Ireland, or the IDA.

Key insight
A plan unlocks the grant.

Green Start covers up to €5,000 and GreenPlus up to €50,000. A verified climate action plan is often the prerequisite for the larger capital supports that follow.
